Sapa, north Vietnam

April 10th, 2008

We visit Sapa in northern Vietnam. It’s the closest we’ve come to China since Hong Kong, and we spend our time dodging souvenir sellers and hiking an unbelievably long way. Find out whether it’s fun walking on mud in 40 degree heat by clicking here.

Hoa Lo Prison, Vietnam

April 7th, 2008

We visit the nicest hotel we’ve seen in months, jog our memories vis a vis cereal, and visit the place where Republican Presidential hopeful John McCain was held during the Vietnam war. He had a great time, apparently. Click here to see how we got on.

Cat Ba and Monkey Islands, Vietnam

April 4th, 2008

We visit monkey island, named for its tiny inhabitants. We see monkeys (small and aggressive), try kayaking (slow, exhausting and wet, if good fun), and sprint for our boat back to the mainland. Find out if we were forced to spend the night with Bobo and friends by clicking here.

Halung Bay, Vietnam

April 4th, 2008

We visit Halung Bay, one of the most beautiful natural harbours on Earth. 2,000 stunning, unexplored islands, wild monkeys, and tourists who want the engine turned off so they can get some sleep. Find out how many stupid people got pushed overboard by clicking here.

Phonsavan, Laos, to Hanoi, Vietnam

April 4th, 2008

We have our worst day of travelling so far. It involved the following: Canadians, Germans, 27 hours on buses, rain, rip-offs and domestic disputes. Find out if we took the first plane home by clicking here.
