It’s further south than St Louis, and a mere hawk and spit of tobacco from the state border with Tennessee, which means that a good proportion of the people we ran into had a deeply pleasing southern twang. We’ve been called y’all a thrilling number of times, and also ran across the biggest cross I’d ever seen on the way - pure white, and 198 feet high, and 113 feet at its widest point.
